Funky Flowers

I really enjoyed making this card; I watched Sam Poole on C&C a couple of weeks ago using these stamps, so I’m afraid it was yet another ‘must have’ purchase!!

I cut a piece of white card to size and created the background using distress inks, before over stamping with various textured stamps.  I stamped the corners using Sheena’s corner stamp.  I coloured and added ‘jewels’ to the cut out flowers and added them along with the sentiment using foam pads to give depth to the card.  Finally I added some embossing enamel, heat setting it for texture for the final touches.

Recipe
White base card is a square Craftwork 148x148 card
Stamps; Sam Poole – Art Flowers, Sheena Douglass – Ageing Beautifully, Tim Holtz – Stampers Anonymous
Inks; Tim Holtz  Distress inks – Brushed Corduroy, Spiced Marmalade, Dried Marigold, Crushed Olive, Pealed Paint
Frantage – Shabby White embossing enamel
Bits n pieces from my stash

Hope you like my card.

April Workshop with Eileen

Sorry for not blogging much this month, I've just been so busy;  I’m going to be Lady Captain at the golf club from November this year and there is SO much to organize before the year starts.  I like to call it ‘when hobbies collide’!! lol.  I though retirement was supposed to be sitting down and watching day time telly, not rushing around like a blue arse fly..

I’d also like to say a very warm welcome to Lynne, Loraine & Dawn who recently become members of my blog, thank you so much for following me.  I promise I'll do more blogging soon.

Below are the cards I made during Eileen’s workshop in April; you can find Eileen’s blog at http://eileenscraftyzone.blogspot.co.uk/ Another fun class this month, we always learn something new, not forgetting catching up with a great bunch of ladies and having a giggle.

This final card is the 1st time I’ve done a reflection, I used my splodge matt for this technique, it didn’t come out too bad but the tree’s aren’t as bold as I would have liked, must practice more when I have time.
Let me know if you've stopped by.

I Made The Top 5 Clarity Challenge!

I’d firstly like to say a very warm welcome to Nikki, Clare & Janet who have recently decided to become members of my blog, thank you so much for following me.
As most of you are aware I was selected as 1 of the top 5 in the new Clarity monthly challenge.  My entry is the bicycle card called “A bit of Clarity” posted on 15th March a little further down. The standard of cards entered last month was in my opinion, excellent, so to be selected as 1 of the top 5 is truly humbling.  I’m busy working on this month’s effort ‘in the garden’ but lightening doesn’t strike twice does it!?
I’ll be posting the new cards I made at Eileen Godwin’s workshop in the next couple of days. Many of you will be aware of the very talented Eileen and I’m lucky that I live close enough to attend her monthly workshop. For those that don’t know Eileen’s work, (can’t believe there are many), her blog is; http://eileenscraftyzone.blogspot.co.uk/ take a look you won’t be disappointed!
Please come back and have a look when you can.
Once again many thanks for taking the time to view my blog.

Firstly I would like to say a big hello and welcome to Julie-Ann, Wendy, Pauline, Abbie, & Barbara who have recently started to follow my blog, your support is very much appreciated.

I made the following card for my ‘oldest’ friends husband, (I like to call her that because she’s 6months older than me)!  My version of shabby just because I felt like it.
